TIPOLOGY OF ASSISTANCE DOGS

 

In Catalonia, five types of distinct assistance dogs are recognised, thanks to the enforcement of the 19/2009 law of the 26^th November, granting access for people accompanied with assistance dogs:

 

 

 

 ALERT DOGS

  Prepared and trained to raise an alert of attacks of different illnesses  (diabetes, epilepsy,...)

 

 

 

GUIDE DOGS  

Prepared and trained to assist people with visual disabilities.  

 

 

 

 

   AUTISM SERVICE DOGS

  Prepared and trained to accompany and assist people with Autism   Spectrum Disorders.

 

 

 

HEARING  DOGS  

Prepared to alert people with hearing disabilities, of different sounds.  

 

 

 

 

  SERVICE DOGS

   Prepared and trained to assist people with physical disabilities.
